This is just a sample of our regular projects that require help.
Bottle Sorting– Tay Valley dump: Position requires empty bottles and cans to be sorted for bottle return.
Summer Hours (Victoria Day-Thanksgiving) 2-4pm Mon, Wed, Sat, Sun.
Winter Hours (Thanksgiving-Victoria Day) 2-4 Mon, Wed, Sat

Catering Events: Jamboree-3rd Sunday of every month, except December. This project requires people to prep, serve and clean up dishes etc after. Hours will be dependent on preference (prep, serve, clean-or all 3) This can be discussed upon contact and is flexible.

We do other catering events but they are not guaranteed. If you are interested in our other events (weddings, Christmas and birthday parties, etc) please let us know and we will reach out to you when we are contacted.
Canada Day Celebrations: People required to assist in donation collection the day of event, as well as to plan and assist in execution of the day’s events (ie, games, face painting, scavenger hunt) Hours are flexible but begin at 9am.
Radio Bingo: Positions include the preparation of the bingo cards prior to the event, distribution of cards to local businesses and number caller at the radio station. Hours are flexible 1-4 per week. The radio bingo happens on Tuesdays at 6:10pm. Contact bonnieking1963@gmail.com
Santa Claus Parade: The parade happens the 2nd Saturday in December. We require barricade movers and road monitors for the parade as well as people to help in the Civitan parking lot prior to the parade with float entries, clean up and tear down staff as well and hot chocolate servers. Hours: 2-4 the day of the event. Contact bob@mingie.com
Christmas Craft Sale: This event requires set up and tear down before and after the event and people to help run the canteen. The canteen position requires people to prepare, serve and run cash. This is an all-day event that happens in December (Dates to come) If you are interested, please contact us and we will put you on the list to call. Bonnieking1963@gmail.com
Auction Sales: People required to prep, serve and run cash for our monthly auctions. Typically, auctions are Thursday at 4 pm once a month. Hours are flexible.
Hall Canteen: Jobs include prepping and serving hotdogs and hamburgers as well as running cash and selling various snacks and drinks. The canteen runs all summer and the times fluctuate with the games and tournaments. Contact Sue Breckenridge 62suebreeze@gmail.com for information.
Dessert Night Fundraiser for Cancer: Typically in April and would be 5-25 hours depending on what you are helping with. We require people to set up for the event, including decorations and tables. Some desserts would need to be sliced and plated. We require at least 2 people to welcome people and take payments for raffle tickets etc. as well as people to help in the request and acquisition of prizes. This evening typically requires 6-8 people for about 4 hours but the prep work before the event requires many more hours.
Road Cleanup: This takes place in the spring and fall and is usually about 2 hours with a meal after. Volunteers are to pick up litter from alongside local roads. Contact chrisstanfield@yahoo.ca
